It began in the late 1800's when J.C. McQuiddy, a struggling young preacher, became the office manager of the Gospel Advocate, a religious bookstore. Gradually, J.C. expanded the company, beginning with the production of Bible lessons and other religious materials.

In 1903, he decided to venture into the field of commercial printing, and McQuiddy Printing Company was born. In the decades that followed, McQuiddy Printing was passed from father to son to brother, each focusing on J.C.'s vision of success.

In 1950, with David McQuiddy Sr. at the helm, the company experienced dramatic growth. On July 4, 1966, McQuiddy moved to its current home at 711 Spence Lane in Nashville, Tennessee.

1929-1999

Fourteen years later, the reins were given to David McQuiddy, Jr. who continued to modernize the family operation by investing millions in new equipment.

In 1987, McQuiddy began its heatset web printing operations by investing in a mid-size Harris M100L. Today, our web department boasts a full-size Harris M300.
